PROKOPENKO, Alexei (1926-1998)
Born in Vorontsovka, Voronezh region in 1926. In 1960 Prokopenko graduated from the Surikov Art Academy. Began exhibiting in 1949. Important shows include "Soviet Russia", Moscow 1960. He was a Merited Member of the Union of Artists in 1960. His works are held in Volgograd and Volzhski Art Museums. Many of his paintings have found their way to private collections in the Russia, Great Britain, Japan, Germany and France.
