Petr Krokhonyatkin (1929-2018)
Born near Kastroma in 1929. Graduated from the Yaroslavl Art School in 1949. He studied in the Surikov Art Academy in the studio of F.P.Reshetnikov and V.G.Tseplakov, which he graduated from in 1956. During the same year he became a member of the Union of Artists. 1956-1960 he taught Fine Art at Yaroslavl Art School. He started exhibiting his works at 1960. Important shows include 'All-Union Art Exhibition', Moscow 1965. He was best at genre painting, though keen on landscapes and portraits as well. Also known as a graphic artist. Many of his paintings are in private collections and museums in Great Britain, Holland, France and United States.
Viktor Tsvetkov (1920)
Born in Leningrad in 1920. He finished Leningrad Art School in 1937 and then graduated from the Repin Art Academy in 1952. Passionate realist he spent long hours sketching and drawing from life scenes and travelling about his vast native land with his palette and brush. In 1953 he became Member of the Union of Artists, establishing himself as a portraitist and artist of figurative painting. Art, as well as poetry, became his life-long inspiration. His versatile talent was recognised in Russia early before "perestroika" opened doors to the western world of connoisseurs of art. His works are exhibited in galleries and museums of different towns and cities of his motherland, including internationally known the Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow). Many of his paintings found their way to private collections in the USA, Great Britain, Japan, Germany and Canada.
Vyacheslav Shepelev (1924 - 1991)
Born in Tataria 1924. Studied at the Kazan Art College then graduated from the Art Academy in Moscow. Member of the Russian Union of Artists since 1958. Taught at the Yaroslavl Art College 1981 - 1983. Important shows include 'Soviet Russia' Moscow 1960-1980. Well-known works include "Winter Day" 1962 The State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, another version of this painting is presented in our private collection. Specialised in thematic (genre) paintings, also brilliant portraitist. Many of his pictures are in private collections and museums in Russia, France, Holland, Belgium, UK and USA.
Yakov Khaimov (1914 - 1991)
Born in 1914. He studied in the Moscow Art Institute during late 1930s - early 1940s. Important shows included All Union Art Exhibition in Moscow 1946, 1947,1950 and 1951. Specialised in genre paintings and landscapes. Was active in Uzbekistan and Moscow. Member of the Union of Artists and also Honoured Artist of Russia. His paintings were widely exhibited in his country and abroad. Many of his works can be found in private collections in the USA, Great Britain, Spain, Germany and Japan. Talented realist Khaimov believed in the inspiring influence of his art which portrayed the everyday down-to-earth world around him, where his compatriots lived and worked for the benefit of his country.
