KNYJOV, Vinar (1930-2005)
Vinar Knujov was born in Gorki. Graduated from Penza Art School in 1956 with a Gold Medal. Graduated from the Leningrad Art Academy in 1963. He started exhibiting his works at 1965. Member of the Union of Artists in 1964. Important shows include 'All-Union Art Exhibition', Moscow 1983-1988. He was best at genre painting, though keen on landscapes and portraits as well. Many of his paintings are in private collections and museums in Great Britain, Holland, France and United States. Honoured Artist of the USSR since 1980.
