KHAIMOV, Yakov (1914 - 1991)
Studied at the Moscow Art Academy during the late 1930s and early 1940s. Important shows included the All Union Exhibition in Moscow 1946, 1947, 1950 and 1951. Specialised in genre paintings and landscapes. He was active in Uzbekistan and Moscow and a member of the USSR Union of Artists. Honoured Artist of Russia. His paintings were widely exhibited and acquired by the museums of his native country and abroad. Many of his works are in private collections in the USA, Great Britain, Spain, Germany and Japan.
