AZIZYAN, Grigori (1923-2008)

Grigori Azizyan was born in Armavir, Krasnodar region in 1923. Studied at Yerevan Art School in 1938-1941. Then graduated from the Yerevan Art Institute in 1953. Began exhibiting from 1953. Member of the Union of Artists in 1957. Specialises in genre scenes, portraits and still life. Exhibited widely in Armenia. His painting won a major award at the 'Armenia Art' exhibition in 1989. His paintings are part of private collections in USA, Armenia, Russia and Great Britain. An Honoured Artist of Armenia.
